Day 34-5: Donauworth, DE

65.6 km  Ride details

Ride was flat for first half, but I needed some food before 10 a.m. So we stopped in the town of Neuberg at a little sidewalk cafe. Had some sparkling water(water with gas) and pommes ( French fries).
Not far out of town the hills began. I only had to walk up one, so they weren't
so bad.

Saw lots of e-bikes today. Could have used one on the hills we endured.

My panniers in the morning aren't too heavy, just a bit cumbersome to carry all four. At the end of the day, it seems their weight has multiplied. 2 flights of stairs is enough to do me in. We always seem to get the room at the top or the hotel at the top of a hill. Except last night, Dana calls the room we had last night "the dungeon". It smelled like smoke and was in a basement. This is really the only terrible room we've had.
Weather has been perfect, but it's about to change. We 'll have to see what it's like in the morning.

JoAnn, you are in great shape and maybe the extra journey up the stairs and up the hill is an integral part of your trip. having to stop for food by 10 a.m. means you're working pretty hard. David
