This building is across the street from the museum we are visiting today Guess where?
Walked all day visiting Washington museums & monuments. Waved hello to Obama. Lots if people are visiting DC, so there were crowds everywhere.

Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky & West Virginia
Rained so hard I couldn't see to drive. Dolores took over. We drove all day and didn't tour, except from inside the car. Access to the internet, listening to Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen , Starbucks & Subway kept us going.
We are staying in the only state that is entirely in the Appalachian. Mountains.
"Gilbert" is anxious to see Liana.
No pictures today, even though the mountains (really just hills) are green & beautiful. Everyone says we must have brought Oregon weather with us, since all the rain is unusual here.

Missouri
Saw the Truman library in Independence,
Then my nephew Jon at his office, also in Independence. What a great guy, it was so great to talk to him and get better acquainted. Hope it won't be too long before I get to see him again.

Kansas
Gilbert let us stop and get refreshed again at Starbucks...may be the last for a while...
The Eisenhower library was today's highlight. His boyhood home was most intriguing. Both he & Maimie are buried there.
Abilene doesn't have much more...3 restaurants, chicken, beef &. Mexican. The beef restaurant " serves everything from hamburger to steak"...hmmm, not sure what they comes between those two.
