Walking The Thames Day 13

9.3 mi Maidenhead to Marlow

No rain and actually a bit hot walking. Big detour around a flooded portion of the path. We watch some young girls wade through. It was only ankle deep so we could have done it...just didn't feel like getting our shoes soaking wet.

We are at an American chain hotel & conference center tonight. Big room, shower & tub. A bit garish in design and apparently popular with all the tourists visiting Windsor Castle.
When we sat down in the bar to eat we realized that they were playing a Pink Martini album, another pleasant reminder of home.

Our walk took us through Cookham today. The path went through a very old church yard and by a small museum of the 20th century artist Stanley Spencer. We took a break and visited the museum. The volunteer receptionist had lots of local stories about the artist to tell.
