Walk the Thames Day 16

13.8 mi Henley to Reading

Henley is famous for scenes from Midsomer Murders a BBC detective series. I think I've watched most of them. So I'm using lots of imagination as we walk today.

The path was flooded so badly that we decided to take a nearby road which turned out to be a major highway with absolutely no shoulder. It was terrible, but we made it safely back to the path for a splendid walk. I can imagine how beautiful it will be on a better day. Since we are determined to do every inch of the path we will come back in a couple of weeks, hopefully it will be a bit dryer so we can walk it properly.

Reading is a big city, with lots of housing that looks like the tenements from Prime Suspects & may have housed lots of industrial workers. Now the area looks a bit gentrified.

New boots. Wellies. Happy Happy!
