Utica to Little Falls

23 miles

Wooly Bear caterpillar Moths precariously walking across our paths.  Can't image that very many make it to their destinations.  First graders brought them to the library every year and ask for a book about them!  So cute!

Cold...47 degree at the start meant we put on too many clothes and so we had to keep stopping while we pealed off another  layer.  The ride was short which was a good thing because it was a hard ride mostly on NY bike route 5 along a major highway.  Head winds all during the ride. Traffic noise,  & 55 mph speed limit, ugh!  A wide shoulder was the only saving grace!

Little Falls is a historic well kept little town.  We did a 3000 steps exploration.  Stopped to talk to local couple who shared a taste from their persimmon tree.

We found this small sign giving Little Falls another claim to fame.

The leaves are definitely turning and the treat is the sporadic brilliant orange.
