We rode along the river in Wisconsin to La Cross. Through La Cross on a bike route that took us on quiet city streets past interesting houses. We passed a couple that were built in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Then to less traffic in an industrial area and onto bike paths, This route was part of the Northern Tier that a couple of riders did last year.

Large number of riders chose not to ride entire distance:
*It was raining
*Too cold (Temp in 50's - 60's )
*Too far
*Wanted to go shopping
*Riding on packed dirt trail for 25 mi wasn't appealing
*Been there, done that.
Etc.
WomanTours guides cheerfully transport anyone who doesn't want to ride for whatever reason.
Monika and I are in the EFM group. :)
I'm really glad I did the whole thing. Rain was like home, so with my rain gear on, I was comfortable. It really didn't rain that much and there was little wind. The coolness kept me going, to stay warm.
The road surface was good and we had a wide shoulder.
The packed dirt path, a rail to trail was a dream, just slightly downhill and straight ahead through a tunnel of trees.
I'm riding with a great companion who is fun to be with. When I ride slower Monika says she enjoys the view, which was spectacular today. Cool, huh!
Flats seem to come in pairs for Monika. One half inch "spike" and a tiny piece of glass.

She is now an expert with 5 flats.
The rest of us supervised and gave her our advice while she changed it quickly.
Welcome to Minnesota.
