Hoppy Easter.
I didn't plan any rest days on this walk, but I did build in some shorter days. So checking in at 3:00 into a large hotel with a huge room is a rest day for us.

We also saw this sign about the volunteers who went across the English Channel to save their soldiers from the German army on the shores of France.
Grey skies all day and JoAnn never got warm. It only got to 41F. and felt like freezing. David has acclimated and was comfortable and went on an hour long run. Ha! So much for needing a rest day.
We are now on the route for the run. We stayed on one side of the river so no great navigating today and that was a good thing, since we saw only a couple of signs letting us know we were on the Thames Path. The rest of the way to Oxford will be an opportunity to gain course familiarity.
This is a 4 day weekend holiday. There were very few people out in London (the city seemed pretty empty) and today we saw families walking & riding bikes. It has been pretty awesome.
The Thames is no longer tidal after Teddington lock.
