Walking The Thames Day 7

20.2 mi. Blackfriars to Richmond

London is huge.  It's amazing that it takes 2 days to walk trough it.  The path and the river meander making the walk even longer.  In addition the path veered away from the river a few times.  In Battersea we walked along the park away from the river then turned through a neighborhood to get to it and found a Artisan Bakery with a vegan sandwich.  So good.  Of course everything tastes good when you are cold and tired.

It was cold all day with threatening dark clouds, but only a few sprinkles. About 4 miles to Richmond we ran into a flooded path& road.  The flooding was caused by a high tide meeting th spring runoff.  Locals said it wasn't unusual.  A kind woman walked around with us so we went the shortest way.

We were definitely ready for our hotel.  We will leave a extra stuff and have a much lighter load for our last two weeks.

A good night sleep in a comfortable bed and we'll be ready for another walk tomorrow.
