Easy ride on a great path during a gorgeous day! This (we are told) is the best part of the C&O.
Rest day, being a tourist
Shepherdstown, West Virginia is a town that has retained buildings from the 1700's. I spent the day walking around with a walking tour guide I found at our 1868 B&B. Walking over the railroad track I came across this memorial to someone who wasn't attentive when he crossed.
For dinner this evening we happened upon a Taqueria with live music, a banjo player who has played in Portland.
Which reminds me of encounters I had today. We are definitely in trouble...everyone know about Portland. I used to have to explain where Portland was...you know that place somewhere between California & Washington. Met a guy who has a son who just moved to Portland & a 30 something young woman who is moving in "a few days". ack!!! Our lovely quaint little Portland has been found out.
