Day 7: to Cumberland rest day

Rain, rain, rain. I knew from the weather forecast the rain would be heavier on the east side of the continental divide, but I guess I didn't really believe it & once started there is no choice but to continue...I can't believe I did the whole thing. It poured. I thought I'd whimp out at lunch in Frostburg, but the restaurant ladies put our clothes in their dryer. Anyway it poured like we were standing in a shower from Frostburg to Cumberland. So I was soaked through my no longer waterproof rain gear.
Friday was a rest day and a chance to tour Cumberland, buy new waterproof gear, visit a Victorian mansion built by a President of the Chesapeake & Ohio company that built the C&O canal and have a "geezer nap". Ready to start the C&O tomorrow !
