Day 52-23: Arnhem, Netherlands

66.9 km
Ride details

We have left Germany. I enjoyed being there. So comfortable. I had one last streusel from a bakery. No more! Every village has a bakery. The larger cities have many. bakeries are as ubiquitous as Starbucks in the U.S.

Now in The Netherlands back to the familiar, that was so strange when I started. A language I don't understand or read. Lots of double vowels, but there are words on signs that I recognize.
It is unbearably hot today, so I was grateful for an easy ride. 2 ferry crossings cooled things off. Arnhem has some hills which is unusual for The Netherlands, fortunately we missed them.

Someone's school project?

We have an attic space room on the 4th floor of this hotel. Our bikes are outside in a huge downpour of rain, thunder and lightening that has just begun. Glad we aren't riding right now. Maybe the rain will cool things off a bit for tomorrow's ride.

Also, just found out that our niece's daughter Rose was born. Congratulations, Megan. Looking forward to meeting her!
