Day 9: Hancock to Williamsport, MD

25.2 mi
Rained overnight, by the time we left it had subsided. We donned our rain clothes anyway.

Darlene & Bill at 1828 Trail Inn were gracious hosts. Very comfortable. Had regular unadulterated oatmeal for breakfast & Darlene wants me to send a recipe for vegan gluten free scones...so I will when I get home.

Rode on the WMRT (Western Maryland Rail Trail) for the first 9 mi. That runs parallel to the C&O for about 22 miles. It is paved, so everyone raves about it and recommends it. We prefer the C&O. We are seeing lots of nature; deer, raccoons, turtles, herons, cardinals, woodpeckers, sycamore trees...

and history as we ride along.
