Riding over bridges on a bicycle teaches you more than you ever wanted to know about expansion joints. My bike's skinny wheels come to a dead stop if i'm not careful.
I've also discovered the painful bite of a fire ant. They dropped out of the tree I was standing under. I was gazing at how flat Louisiana looks from the hillside on which Natches sits.

Today is a layover day. We do laundry, visit the bike shop, catchup on sleep and be tourists. Enjoying the atmosphere of the oldest hotel in Natches built in 1927.
