Day 15: to Cape Girardeau

49.7 mi
Only 49, but it was so hot I was happy to be done even though it was only noon. Pretty place surrounded by low green rolling hills. So much if this country is flat, communities spread out to fill the space making travel by car a necessity.
I'm continuing to ride with Monika, she is a great companion. We stop every 10 miles for a break. If one of us slows or stops for a picture then the other waits.
No pictures to share today...it was just more of the same...oh there was a tailwind which made our average 12.4 mph today.

This is a picture from yesterday at the Ferry crossing. Don't know how many times we will use a ferry as we meander up the Mississippi. We have crossed the river 4 times so far and we have ridden over 800 miles.
I've discovered a couple of new products by Assos for skin repair and Chamois butter. A European company, so David found it locally and put it in the mail. Looks like I'll get a care package in St. Louis at our next rest day.
Comments and feedback are always welcome.

  2. Guess we won't be dong any planting this year. Hope to have house ready for Liana to live there without us by mid summer. David is working hard while I'm gone, but there will be plenty more to do when I get home. Thanks for making a comment, someone does read my words occasionally. Finding that I don't have too much to say each day...more road and more heat and more miles...
