Day: 23: Rest day in Burlington

Burlington is known for a winding street called Snake Alley. Today was one of 3 Memorial Day bike racing events. Several of our group went to watch the Snake Alley Criterium this morning. An apparently famously difficult event.

I stayed at our hotel and cleaned my bike. It still has lots of the gluelike mud that we got into during our first week of riding. My poor bike has never been so dirty.
None of our chef's great food today, so had to go to Subway.

It is in the 90's here today, with tomorrow predicted to be hotter. The heat just melts me and zaps my energy.

Definitely appreciate having this rest day.

The view from the hotel. Typical, flat landscape looking out at strip mall with empty buildings interspersed with thriving fast food & gas stations.

David sent me this picture of himself & Nic & friend from work. They are at the Western States 100 training camp this weekend. It is only in the 60's there.
