Left Hannibal on busy highway 61 with wide shoulder and smooth pavement. Strong wind all day from the south. That was great when we were heading north. When the wind was a headwînd or crosswind, it was pretty tough going.
We crossed on our last ferry today. Rode in Illinois and ended the ride by crossing back over a bridge into Iowa.
Temporary delay when we arrived at the ferry to find it closed by the Coast Guard. Our guide, Carol, put on her charm and the captain made a special trip across illegal or not.
