April 8

From Navasota to Cleveland, Texas
75.0 mi
Roadkill: armadillo, skunk, opossum

Road through Anderson, Richards, then through Sam Houston National Forest, New Waverly, and then after an 8 mile stretch of busy hwy (150) we turned onto a 22 mile stretch of road to Cleveland that was made in "bicyclist heaven."  It was flawlessly smooth and without much traffic.  What a pleasure to ride.

We are staying at a Super 8 with soft beds and very nice family at the reception desk.  I would recommend this, to anyone driving through Cleveland, TX.

  1. hey gal - I keep reading your blogs and am just in awe. It has been an entire month now for you and I see that it is hard to come up with new sentences. Some days are very long for you, how long does it take you to ride 90 miles? Allen is just signing up for STP - did you sign up before you left? Also, we are leaving for our cross country trip in 10 days. We are flying to STL and ride the Katy trail first, then halfway through Missouri we'll turn North and follow the Lewis and Clark Trail. We still have not decided how far we will go, we have trailers for our bikes and will camp most nights. We'll let you know when our blog starts.
