41.2 miles

Snacks and breakfast made by Linda before we started on our leisurely ride to Alabama.
Easy miles along an old highway with the breeze from the Gulf. Road became instantly better when we passed the state line.
The bridge to the Island was a great vista for most the riders. Very little wind. I just kept my focus on the road and did fine. It wasn't very steep or high. I remember coming here when we lived in Mobile(and David reminded me that we drove down here with Liana and Nic when we came back for Laurie's wedding in the 90's), but it is a vague memory and after 40 years and several huricanes it certainly isn't the same looking. One local resident who introduced himself to us said that there were 300 homes destroyed in Katrina and Ivan, but everyone rebuilds.
We are staying condos for our rest day tomorrow. I'm staying with 4 others in a 4 bedroom unit. We have Internet and cell phone coverage with 5 bars, nice beds, large living space, 3 bathrooms, washer/dryer, and a blender in the kitchen. Home is getting closer...

Having a good day Flying tooo hugh???dad
