April 15

From Hammond to Bogalusa, Louisiana

55.2 miles
Roadkill: oppossums, rabbits
We are traveling north of New Orleans
 Almost in Mississippi.
Short mileage day made this a bit of a rest.  Its amazing how not having that additional 30 miles to go helps the spirit. This part of Louisiana has some curves in the road and small hills, maybe 100 feet, that helps  break up the monotonyr of the straight flat roads we traveled as we crossed the Mississippi delta.  Rode with Rita, Alayne and Mike.  They may have been riding slower than usual for me, but it was fast for me and kept we working hard to keep up.  The high traffic roads are easier to handle with a group.

Rita took this picture at a SAG stop

We're staying at the Traveler's Rest Motel, not a bad place especially in comparison to some that are becoming just dim memories.

A frequent traffic sign seen across the south

Your Dad called and had me read him your "blob" for the day ... LOL! Sounds as though you had a great day. You girls look gorgeous. Is there such thing as a 'bicycler's tan?' (as opposed to a 'trucker's tan) ... I think you've got one!
