Katy trail: Rhineland to Marthasville

31 mi
Riding today was filled with meeting fellow travelers. Our adventures included helping with a flat-tire. But the 45 minute effort was useless and Steve and May ended calling their SAG driver. Lucky they had that option.

We stayed in a large old house once owned by one of Daniel Boone's son, Nathan and the location of Daniel's original gravesite. His bones may have been moved to Kentucky, but that claimed is in doubt. The 50 acre property is set up for large events with several buildings and big TP tents for overnight stays. Last night we had the whole place to ourselves. The house is filled with beautiful expensive antiques so we didn't want to touch anything. The claw foot bathtub in the bathroom next the the kitchen downstairs made for a long trek during the night. We used the microwave and our own utensils for our simple fresh, veggies and beans dinner. The manager of the property, Bonita, kindly drove me to a grocery store so we didn't have to ride up the big hill to get there and had enough food for breakfast as well. Great WiFi.
