63.9 mi. Hard ride, that would have been more fun if I was in better shape. We started at the lake level and worked our way up to about 1200 ft. Then back down to lake level as we arrived in Hancock. Downhill for last 20 miles was helpful. We rode on a 4 lane highway with wide shoulders most the day.
Hancock was settled by the Finnish in the late 1800's, lots of unfamiliar names on signs and streets attest to a Finnish heritage.

The town is on a hillside overlooking Houghton across the canal and Portage Lake. Local cuisine includes Pasties, a meat/ veggie filled pocket of pastry. I'll have to see if I can fine a veggie only version.
Found one:

Finnish University (FU) seems to be a major economic contribution to the town.

Mining was short lived here, so the tourist industry including winter sports are a major attraction. Lots of snow from October to May, at least this year.
We get a rest day here. So I'll walk around, and rest off that bicycle saddle!
