April 1 - Half-way

From Vanderpool TX to Kerrville
50.0 miles.

Started with gray skies wind and misting that threatened to become rain.  Ride was through a picturesque valley to Medina on Ranch Road 355.
Take a look at some of the other participants blogs.  They have some good pictures.  Kathy Kirby in particular always finds the unusual to photograph.

Much needed rest day in Kerrville tomorrow.

  1. Hello from Bob:

I won't try humor again as it apparently went unappreciated, if not unnoticed.

We're reading your blog every day at our household and really appreciating what you're accomplishing.

Just an fyi, as you travel in the vicinity of Austin and Houston you'll be near most of Stacey's family.

    Keep up the good work!!

  2. HI from Catherine,
I am so amazed at what you are ding. Don't think I would ever have the guts to do it. Keep on pedaling! I can't believe you're half way there.

P.S. Texas seems to be half the continent!

  3. Hi JoAnn! What an awesome journey on which you've embarked!! Your Dad has been trying to get me to check out your blog for a week now and I've finally found the time to catch up to you as you cruise across the county! Wow, I'm so excited for you ... sounds like a great, CHALLENGING adventure!! By the way, we think that bird is, in fact, some species of vulture. Best of luck to you!!

I am trying to get a comment in...hope this works. You are a role model for all of us who would love to do an adventure. Keep pedalin' and you are at the point of no return. Book club on Monday - discussing the River of Doubt.

  5. Thanks so much for all the comments. Even though I'm riding with some very great people, it can get lonesome out here away from everything that is familiar and knowing that there is actually someone following my journey is comforting.
