GAP: Rockwood to Meyersdale

12.1 mi
The day of the lost wallet, a flat tire & stung by a yellow jacket.

When we got to the B&B we realized David's wallet was missing, so we thought about the day and remembered the Pinkerton Tunnel about 8 miles back. In the middle of a very dark tunnel, my light went out, so David went through his handle bar bag to find his light. He also had his wallet in there. Fortunately the 70 person group that was behind us hadn't been through yet.

Good thing our ride was short. As we approached the only shelter with , porta potty & 5 miles to go, I realized my front tire was flat. Fortunately there was a bicycle pump & tool station next to the shelter. We wrestled with the tire for over an hour, hunting for the puncture, changing the tube and putting the tire back on. As we were about to leave, a yellow jacket found it's way up my sleeve. Ohw wee! I'm too old for so much adventure in one day!
We are staying in a hotel, an old building that was once the morgue. Sweet dreams!

Leaves heavily fall.
Yellows flutter down to brown.
Still greens add to duff.
