Day 1 Buffalo to Lockport via Niagara Falls

After a long ride (much longer than we expected)  we arrived st Canalside in Buffalo and started our ride to Niagara Falls.  Turned out to be  a beautiful unseasonably warm day.

When you travel on a bike you either wear everything or carry it. By the end of the ride we were carrying more than wearing.

Niagara Falls was worth the trek to get there but we knew we would run out of daylight so we had to skip the Canal path and ride as quickly as possible to get to our destination in Lockport on a two lane, but wide shouldered unlit highway.  We both had good headlights and arrived at 8:15 pm.

My electronics conked out at 49 miles, and the last portion was on David's cell phone Google maps...about 62 miles total. Still 71 degrees as it got dark. Whew, not a smart idea when you haven't been riding much in Portland's mercurial summer.
