Have to say lots of goodbyes on this trip. Hopefully my friends will come to Portland again.
Started my trip with Bernadette and a drive to Haarlem station where I caught the Sprinter to Amsterdam.
Change in Paris including a ride to another train station using their underground. Made it with 8 minutes to spare.
Also said good-bye to my steadfast Bike Friday. It was extremely reliable for 2 months of riding. Bernadette's brother will bring it back in one of his monthly trips to the U.S.
Tomatoes and cucumbers for breakfast...refreshing selection I may continue to eat when I'm home.
Transfer in Paris was an adventure, but I did it without a flaw. The only worry came when the track had the wrong train. They line the trains up behind each other so multiple trains have the same track number. Fortunately there was an official who spoke English and pointed me on my way.
4 days in Florence, then on to Frankfurt to meet Dolores.

I'm glad you are enjoying tomatos. We have plenty. Been eating the cherry red and yellow for two weeks now. 40 plants altogether - starting to bear. Even an exotic deep purple cherry tomato plant. Harsh summer here and judicious watering helped the squash beat the heat and thrive. See you soon...David
