Back to Duluth

57.8 mi. Beautiful sunny day on low traffic roads and bike paths today. I averaged 52 miles for the days I rode on this trip. With 3 days in a row off and a rest day prior to these last 3 days, it is amazing how quickly I feel out of shape. So these last three days were exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. It's that feeling that keeps me riding.

Rode the Gitchi-Gami State bike trail for several miles again today. Minnesota sure has done a great job building nicely paved bike ways outside the metro areas.
Last segment in town took us by a rail line that they use in the summer for an excursion train that included an old Empire Builder dining car. Not much different than the one I'll be riding home.

Rode directly to the bike shop to have my bike packed into a box for the trip home.
We had our final meal together and said our good-byes.

I'm the one in the black sweatshirt.
