March 3

On Amtrak
No internet connectivity on the train so far. My phone GPS navigator is fun to have.  I can see where we are, how fast we are going, as well as the weather(can see weather out the window as well).
Suisun Bay has big military ships going into Martinez, CA.  Huge freeway bridge wasn’t there when Liana, Nic and I would ride this train to visit Grampa and Elaine.  Passing a huge industrial complex, looks like a refinery.  Always get to see the “back side” of America riding on Amtrak.  Station is new and looks like a busy place.
Had a comfortable sleep, shower, refreshed and ready for whatever lies ahead.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Enabled Wi-Fi, with some tech help, so everything works.

Commuter train severed an empty articulated bus, so train was delayed 2 hours in Oakland.  No injuries.

Beautiful scenery down the California coast.

Made up the time over the day so my connection in LA was perfect, no waiting.  It has been raining most of the day...so I wonder what awaits me in San Diego.

I’ve arrived in San Diego.  Found hotel and room in the middle of the night.  Karen, is my roommate for 2 nights.

  2. Happy to hear you have arrived to sunshine. I liked seeing the good-bye pictures. All is well at PSU and PCC. Happy sailing. I didn't know it was your B-day. I salute the BIKE WOMAN!
