42 with detour right to our B&B at the end
We enjoy meeting so many interesting people on this trip. The trail today was much better.
1.1 mile detour around canal construction to restore the canal to a fully functioning canal & lock at Williamsport.
The Bay Farm B&B is newly updated with a new owner. 100% better than when I stayed here before! The Desert Rose Cafe at the end of the block and right on the detour is an unusual spot with vegan options on the menu. Found this the first time I rode in the C&O. When the construction is finished Williamsport will soon be THE place to be!

Desert Rose (the cafe owner) invited us to a pumpkin carving contest in a nearby park. Since we will shuttle to Amtrak & travel to DC, staying up later is a good option.
