18.5 mi Lechlade to Newbridge.
Started out with a rain shower that fortunately didn't continue. Our room looked out onto a very busy street, I watched the cars to check for windshield wipers and started out wearing our rain gear. It was cloudy and grey most of the day, but once we begin to walk the occasional cold wind & sprinkles feels fine. Our guidebook describes this as the most isolated part of the walk. Between Lechlade and Oxford there are no grocery stores and the walk is through one field to the next. The path is mostly well worn or obviously trampled grass so it's pretty easy to follow. Our inn keepers mentioned that people come through all year round and had tales to tell of the last travelers mishaps falling into the river and then trekking on.
