Saint-Malo, France

If Dolores & I hadn't read All the Light We Cannot See, we would have never come to this amazing coastal town. It's certainly a "happening place". It's exactly as the Pulizer Prize winning book describes, medieval buildings surrounded by ramparts next to the sea. An abundance of French restaurants with crepes, galettes, moule(mussels), and; fruits de mer(seafood) and sweet shops to tempt my whole plant food resolve. (Not really tempted, but fruits & vegetables, grains and beans are pretty scarce here.) plenty of music in the streets, too. Stumbled upon groups singing Fench folk songs, sea chantries each night and went to sleep with jazz being played beneath our window.

The cool coastal weather is a refreshing change after the unbearable heat of Florence and is a good transition to the coast of England where we will board The Queen Mary 2 in a few days.
